Shoutout to the guy at the Charlotte DMV who told me to just rebook instead of waiting
I have been stuck in this loop where I keep trying to renew my license and every single time I go to the DMV on Wilkinson Blvd in Charlotte, the line is out the door and I leave after 2 hours without getting anything done. Four trips. Four failures. I kept telling myself I just needed to get there earlier, so last time I showed up at 6:45am like a clown and still watched 40 people beat me there. While I was standing in line, a guy behind me says he stopped doing walk ins completely and just books online for the first slot 2 weeks out, then shows up, walks past everyone, and is done in 15 minutes. I felt so stupid because I had been treating this like I just needed more willpower when the actual fix was just using the system that already existed. Booked a slot for a Tuesday at 8am, got called up at 8:06, out the door by 8:20. Has anyone else been fighting a problem with effort when the answer was just doing it a totally different way?
