Serious question, I switched from a 30 minute daily walk to three 10 minute walks and it actually helped my focus.

I was struggling to concentrate after lunch for months, and my old routine of one longer walk wasn't cutting it. Splitting it into short bursts, like one at 10 AM, one after lunch, and one at 3 PM, kept my energy way more even. Has anyone else tried breaking up their movement like this for a desk job slump?

Honestly, calling it a "serious question" feels like a bit much (it's just walking, right?). But I guess if it works for your focus, that's cool. I'm just not convinced three short walks are that different from one long one, energy-wise. Maybe the real trick is just getting up from your desk more often, period.

Joel's missing the point about breaking up tasks. It's the same reason I can't clean my whole house in one go but can handle fifteen minute chunks. Short walks reset your brain differently than powering through one long stretch, especially when you're stuck at a desk. The interruption itself is what fights that heavy mental fog.

Thought it sounded silly too, but breaking up my walk actually fixed my afternoon slump.
