Serious question - how long is too long for a project that should have been simple?
I spent 14 weekends trying to fix a drainage issue in my backyard that a landscaper quoted me $800 for, and after all that digging and piping I'm wondering if the time I saved was really worth the hassle or if I should have just paid him from the start - what's the longest you've dragged out a simple fix before giving in?

@sageellis I once spent 6 hours fixing a wonky shelf only to realize I forgot the level in the garage.

Oh man, that hits way too close to home. I spent like five months messing with a sticky door in my laundry room that just needed a single hinge screw tightened. I kept thinking "oh I'll fix it next weekend" and then it would take me three hours of adjusting and shaving wood off the frame before I remembered the screw was right there the whole time. Your drainage thing sounds way more painful than a door but I get that feeling of "well I'm already in too deep to give up now." At a certain point it becomes a pride thing not even a money thing.
