PSA: that $40 phone screen protector with the fancy applicator was a waste

Bought one of those glass protectors with the plastic tray that claims perfect alignment, paid 40 bucks at a mall kiosk in Austin. Got it home, the tray slipped while I was pressing, and air bubbles trapped under the whole left edge. My 8 dollar pack from the gas station goes on cleaner and lasts longer. Anyone else fall for the expensive install kit gimmick?

Thumbed through the directions and still messed it up, so I feel your pain.
