Paying rent via app saved me after 4 late fees
I kept mailing checks from my apartment in Austin and they'd get there late every other month. Landlord hit me with four separate $75 fees before I switched to the online portal. Now it takes 30 seconds and I get a confirmation text. Anyone else dealt with slow mail delivery and just accepted the penalty for way too long?

Whoa, hold on. I gotta push back a little on one thing. Those late fees probably were on you, not the mail. If the check is due on the 1st, it has to be in their hands by then, not just postmarked. I know the portal is way better, I use mine too, but the bank would've let you schedule the payment to arrive early. Did you try that first?
