My 'easy' weekend shed project turned into a 3-day concrete mixing marathon

I decided to build a small 8x10 shed in my backyard last month, thinking the base would be simple. The problem was I didn't level the ground properly before pouring the slab, so the whole thing ended up tilted by a full inch on one side. I spent the next two days breaking it up with a sledgehammer and re-mixing 30 bags of concrete to start over. Has anyone else messed up a foundation this bad and found a faster fix?

Honestly that's just part of the process sometimes lol. A full inch is a lot to fix without starting over, so breaking it up was probably the right call. Better to have a solid base now than a crooked shed forever.

How did you even spot that inch off in the first place?

Might depend on what you're building, but a full inch off isn't always a deal breaker if you're willing to shim it later or adjust the framing. @laura_lane, you'd be surprised what a tight eye and a level can catch on a sunny day. Better to fix it now than explain to the HOA why your wall looks like a funhouse mirror.
