Found out I was loading the dishwasher wrong after 8 years of living in Austin

My roommate finally watched me load it last Tuesday and just laughed. She pointed out I was blocking the spray arm with a big pot every single time. Turns out all my plates were getting hit with soapy water but the stuff on top was just getting steamed. So I rearranged everything and now my glasses don't have that weird film anymore. Has anyone else had a basic chore moment where you felt like an idiot for years?

Did you check if your dishwasher has a filter that needs cleaning too?
