Am I the only one who saw a 70% drop in foot traffic after a new competitor opened?

I run a small bike repair shop in Bend, Oregon. Last month, a big chain store opened two blocks away with a full service center. My weekly customer count went from about 50 people to maybe 15. I've tried lowering prices and running a local ad, but nothing has worked for the past 6 weeks. It feels like I'm just watching my business fade. Has anyone else in a small town managed to bounce back from something like this? What did you do?
