The guy who told me to ignore the safety lock on the paper baler was wrong, almost lost two fingers
My supervisor at the warehouse said I was wasting time engaging the safety lock every time I pushed cardboard into the baler, so I stopped doing it last Tuesday. A jam happened and the ram shot back while my hand was near the opening, barely missed crushing my fingers. Has anyone else gotten bad safety advice from someone who just wanted to speed up the line?

God, that's terrifying. Your supervisor telling you to ignore the safety lock just to speed things up is insane, especially since those balers can seriously mess you up. I'm really glad you still have all your fingers, that was way too close of a call. Did you report what happened to anyone higher up after that?
