The day my office thermostat hit 62 degrees and nobody cared
Last Wednesday the heating broke in our building around 10 AM. By noon it was 62 degrees in our cubicle farm. I asked my manager if we could go home. He said no because the servers were fine. Three people put on winter coats and kept typing. I sat there with my fingers turning blue entering data into spreadsheets. The weirdest part was that nobody complained except me. Has anyone else had a workplace just refuse to acknowledge basic human comfort?

Was there at least any talk of bringing in space heaters or something? Like did management just pretend everything was fine and go back to their emails...
