Spent $200 on a fancy time tracking app my boss pushed for, and it just made my data entry job feel slower.

Feels like everything these days adds extra steps instead of making things easier. Like they solve a problem nobody had and just create more work.

Exactly. It's like they add a whole new app just to turn on a light, when the switch on the wall worked fine. My bank made me set up a separate "security" app just to log in on my computer, which is now another thing that can have an update fail. It doesn't feel safer, it just feels like another point of failure and more stuff to manage.

Totally get what you mean. It's like they're building a fancy new porch but forgetting to put in the front door, so you have to climb through a window to use it. Makes me wonder if all these extra steps are just to make some manager's report look good, showing they "added value" by changing something, even if the change is worse. We end up with more boxes to check and more screens to click through for no real reason.
