Remember when the office printer was the biggest problem?

Back in my first data entry job in Omaha, the main server crashed right before a quarterly report was due. It was 2 PM on a Thursday, and the whole floor went quiet. My manager just looked at me and said, 'Figure it out.' I spent the next three hours manually cross-referencing paper backups with the last saved digital files. We got the report out, but it was all handwritten totals. Anyone else have a tech fail that sent you back to the stone age?

Feels like we're building everything on digital quicksand these days. Your story just proves how fragile all our fancy systems really are.

That sounds like a solid backup plan to me.
