PSA: The vending machine guy at my office is a total scammer

So at my boring data entry job in Phoenix, we have this vending machine that restocks every Tuesday. I noticed my $1.50 bag of chips cost $0.50 more than the same bag at the gas station down the street. I checked three machines over 2 months and every single item is marked up 30 to 45 percent. Has anyone else caught their office vending guy doing this or is mine just extra greedy?

That 30 to 45 percent markup is wild. I actually read somewhere that office vending machine prices can be like 20% higher just because of the convenience factor, but that's still way too much. Yours is definitely pushing it.

Man, my buddy told me his office vending machine charges $2.75 for a can of soda. Thats like double what youd pay at the store down the street.
