That manager is telling you something about their own brain without meaning to. People who get that upset about colors often have a real control problem, like they can't handle any visual noise. Maybe they're the type who freaks out if a pen is out of place on their desk. Forcing everything to gray is just a power move to make their world feel less chaotic. Nah, I mean I get where @faithn51 is coming from, but sometimes a plain spreadsheet is just easier for everyone to read quickly.
