My dispatcher told me to always double-check the apartment number, and I'm glad I listened

I had a delivery for a place on Maple Street, and the app said unit 4B. I was about to leave it at the door when I remembered her advice and called the customer. Turns out they moved to 4D last month, and the old tenant would have just kept the food! That one phone call saved me a bad review and a free meal replacement. Has anyone else had a simple rule save their butt like that?

Remembered to check the address on a prescription delivery once. The house numbers were 2206 and 2260 on the same street, but the porch light was out at the right one. Almost left expensive meds at the wrong dark door for anyone to grab. That rule isn't just about wrong units, it's about porch pirates too.

Oh wow, a friend of mine once left groceries at the wrong apartment because the numbers looked the same in the dark.

What's the dumbest mix-up that rule has caught for you?
