Just realized everyone at my office calls meetings to decide when to have the actual meeting

I counted 8 of these pre-meeting meetings last week alone on my shift, and the actual work still never gets done. Has anyone else noticed this pattern or is it just my boring job?

Are you really that swamped with meetings or just mad you couldn't check your phone for an hour? I see people complain about this all the time but half the time those pre-meetings are just 15 minute check-ins to sort out logistics. Like if your team can't handle a quick sync-up without losing a whole day, that sounds more like a time management problem than a conspiracy. I worked at a place where people whined about too many meetings but then also complained nobody told them what was going on. Pick a lane.

Wait, is it just me or did your old place also have that one guy who'd book a 30 minute meeting slot just to say "keep doing what you're doing" and then hang up? Because I swear that was a monthly thing at my last job, and it always made me wonder if meetings are really about communication or just people covering their butts.
