I thought my coworker's filing system was a joke until I used it
For two years at this data entry job, I organized client folders by last name. My cubicle mate Sarah used a color coded system based on the month they signed up. I laughed at her sticky notes and rainbow tabs. Then I had to find 40 accounts from March 2023 in under 30 minutes. Her system took me 15 seconds per folder. I switched over after that day and now I'm never going back. Has anyone else had a system they mocked turn out to be genius?

@jordanm19 you're right, but the sticky notes were part of a bigger system that actually worked. I used to make fun of a friend who organized her recipes by color instead of type, then I tried it and it made way more sense.
