Had to pick between a new $400 roof ladder or renting one every job for a month

I went with renting because the used market was dry, but after 4 weekends of hauling that thing around town I'm kicking myself for not just buying new. Anyone else ever choose the cheaper route and regret it?

Oh man, I used to be all about saving money upfront. Thought I was being smart by renting tools instead of buying. But after three weekends of driving 45 minutes each way to the rental place and dealing with their crappy equipment, I caved and bought the good stuff. Ended up spending way more in gas and time than if I'd just bought it from the start. Now I always factor in the hassle factor before deciding.
