Had a chat with an old mechanic that changed how I handle my mail truck

I was filling up at the county garage last Tuesday and Bob the fleet guy noticed my engine was running rough. He said 'that air filter is 9 years old if it's a day, you're choking the beast.' Turns out he was right, I replaced it for $12 and the truck runs smoother than it has in months. It made me think about all the little things I ignore because they're 'just how it is' at work. Did you read that article about the mail trucks running on old parts too? Sometimes the simplest stuff makes the biggest difference, like swapping out a bad belt or something.
