Found a weird trick at the library to stay awake during my shift
I work at a public library downtown and the afternoon lull hits me hard around 2 PM. Last week I started chewing cinnamon gum while reshelving and I swear it kept me alert for three hours straight. Has anyone else found a random snack or smell that helps with the mid-shift drowsiness?

Honestly cinnamon gum is a solid pick. I tried that and it worked for a bit, but peppermint oil on my wrists actually kept me going longer. Ngl, the smell just hits different and wakes you right up.

Did your friend try straight peppermint oil too? I had a buddy who worked overnight at a gas station and he swore by sniffing a jar of Vicks VapoRub before his break. He said it woke him up better than coffee for the last four hours of his shift.
