Bought a $25 foot massager for the nurses' station and it's a weird little miracle
After a double shift where my feet felt like they were made of concrete, I finally caved and got one of those cheap roller ball massagers from the drugstore. It's just a plastic thing with little nubs you roll under your arch. I keep it in the bottom drawer at the station. The weird part is how it became a thing. Now, on slow nights, you'll see three of us in a row at the desk, silently rolling our feet on these things while we chart. It looks ridiculous, but it stops that deep ache by about 2 AM. The charge nurse even uses it. Has anyone else found a dumb little gadget that somehow made the grind a tiny bit less awful?

Honestly, it's just a piece of plastic with bumps. I get the foot pain (who doesn't), but calling it a miracle feels like a stretch, even with @sandra916 saying cheap stuff saves us. It's a temporary fix for a much bigger problem, you know?

Adams.ivan nailed it with "temporary fix for a much bigger problem." I used to think those cheap textured pads were just a gimmick too. But I tried a set from the dollar store a few months back, and man, it actually helped my arch pain a ton. Not a cure all, but for three bucks it made standing at work way easier. So I guess I get why people call them a miracle now.
