Appreciation post for the random fact I found in our school's utility closet

So I was stuck filing old paperwork last week and found a stack of energy bills from 1998. I started flipping through them and realized our school's electric bill back then was only $1,200 a month. Now it's over $4,500 for the same building, lol. Makes me wonder how much of that is just inflation vs all the computers and smart boards we added. Has anyone else found old bills or records that made you go 'huh'?

Tbh I just found a pizza coupon from 1999 in my glovebox and was honestly disappointed the price wasn't still valid.

Oh man, that's wild! I love finding old stuff like that. A couple years back I was cleaning out my grandma's desk and found an old receipt from a grocery store in the 90s. A dozen eggs was like 89 cents and a gallon of milk was probably a buck fifty. Now that same stuff costs triple or more. It seriously messes with your head to see it in black and white like that. I just sat there staring at it for a good five minutes trying to wrap my brain around how cheap everything used to be. It makes you realize how much the little stuff adds up over time for sure.
