Vent: I keep seeing people skip the rounding and backing step on their first case binding

I learned the hard way after my first three books developed a terrible forward lean because the text block wasn't shaped. Has anyone found a good workaround for when you don't have a proper backing press?

You skipped rounding on your first three books?

Actually, I was wondering if maybe the first books were a different size. I've seen that happen with some sets where the early printings are a bit taller or shorter. It throws the whole look off on the shelf. Maybe they changed the trim size later, and that's why the later books look more uniform. It would drive me nuts if my series didn't line up.

Yeah, that forward lean is a dead giveaway.
