TIL about PVA vs wheat paste for book cloth, wheat is way better

I used PVA for like 6 months on all my cloth covers and couldnt figure out why they kept bubbling at the spine, then a dude at the library bindery in Portland told me to try wheat paste for the cloth to board step. Night and day, no bubbles and it dries slower so you can adjust it, has anyone else switched off PVA for the cover step or is it just me?
