That $40 bone folder I grabbed on sale is already splitting at the crease

Picked it up from a craft supply site three weeks ago thinking I'd save a few bucks, and now the edge is fraying when I work on leather covers. Anyone else had luck with the cheap poly folders vs the actual real bone ones?

Ugh, classic "saving money means spending twice" move. Poly folders are just fancy plastic, real bone's the only way to go.

Poly folders actually hold up way better than you think! I've been using the same set for three years now and they still look brand new, no cracks or rips. Real bone folders can chip or get stained over time, especially if you're using them a lot for different projects. Plus poly ones are lighter and easier to carry around in a bag without worrying about breaking them. Not trying to say bone folders are bad, just that poly has its own strengths that work great for different situations.
