Rant: my old shop teacher told me to stop rounding my spines so much, and he was dead wrong
Back in trade school around 2011, Mr. Halvorsen watched me round the spine on a journal and said I was taking off too much. Told me to leave it flat-ish so the text block sits tight. I listened for three projects and every one of them cracked at the hinge within a month. Switched back to a fuller round and they've held up fine for over a decade now. He meant well but that advice cost me three good notebooks. Any of you get taught something in a class that your hands later proved wrong?
