Pro tip: the cheap bone folder won, and it took me 3 weeks to admit it

I spent 45 bucks on a fancy metal bone folder from that shop in Portland, and it kept slipping on my book cloth. Finally grabbed a $6 plastic one from a local craft store out of desperation, and it grips way better. Took me three weeks and a ruined spine to switch, but now I get why the old timers at the bindery all use the same basic one. Anyone else stuck with a pricey tool that just sits in the drawer now?
