My stitching looked like a drunk spider ran across the spine until I changed one thing
Two years ago I couldn't sew a straight line to save my life, and every pamphlet I made had crooked stitches you could see from across the room. The thing that fixed it was dumb: I started pre-punching my holes with an awl against a cradle I cut from a scrap of oak in my garage in Dayton, instead of eyeballing it with a needle. Going from freehand to a fixed guide dropped my crooked spines to almost zero on the next 20 or so pamphlets. My stitches still aren't perfect, but at least they look like a person did them on purpose. Curious what jigs or cradles folks here swear by, since mine is pretty rough.
