I called Japanese tissue paper a waste of money for spine linings
For years I stuck with regular acid-free paper from my local art store in Austin, thinking the fancy imported stuff was just hype. Then I tried a sheet of 9g/m2 Sekishu paper on a repair job for a 1920s poetry book, and the way it folded and held paste without bubbling changed my mind. Has anyone else had a tool or material they were wrong about?

Wait, you have a local art store in Austin that sells acid-free paper? I've been ordering mine online for ages.

Yeah @brookes37, Jerry's Artarama on North Lamar has a whole WALL of it. I felt like I found a secret treasure chest when I walked in. I used to order online too and the shipping costs were honestly a crime. Now I can actually feel the paper weight before I buy, which is a total game changer. Supporting a local spot is just the bonus on top.

Honestly I thought buying local was dumb but now I get it. Felt the paper weight and changed my whole view?
