Why does nobody talk about hosting a 'bad book' club night
Tbh my book club was stuck in a rut reading all these award-winning serious novels. My friend Karen brought up the idea of doing a night where everyone brings the worst book they've ever finished. We did it last month and it was the most fun we've had in two years. The debate over which book was truly the worst got so heated we stayed an extra hour. Has anyone else tried a negative-themed book club meeting?

That "which book was truly the worst" debate is exactly what I'm talking about. Last year my buddy Rob brought this self-published thriller where the detective fell in love with the killer in chapter two and then they solved crimes together. The writing was so bad the pages felt sticky. Another guy brought a book where the author used the word "moist" seventy times in the first chapter. We spent twenty minutes just counting them. It turned into this weird competition to find the most offensively bad writing.

That's honestly kind of genius though.
