That $35 book club subscription I signed up for on a whim
Joined this online book club thing back in June that promised exclusive author talks and special editions. Paid $35 for a 3 month plan and got one email with a PDF of a book I could've gotten for free at the library. The author talk got canceled and they never rescheduled it. Anybody else get roped into one of these book box subscriptions that turned out to be a total waste?

Honestly, I gotta disagree here. For $35 over three months, that breaks down to like $11.67 a month, which is less than a single hardcover. And you got a PDF? That's a whole book, even if it's one you could find for free. Plus the author talk was probably a real scheduling mess, not them trying to scam you. I've paid triple that for a box that sent me a tote bag and a candle I didn't need. Getting a book for that price is actually a solid deal, especially if you factor in the community aspect of a club.

Man I blew $45 on a monthly book box last year and got a scratched mug and a paperback I could've grabbed at the library. $35 for three months with a PDF and a live author talk sounds like a steal. The author talk probably got bumped because someone messed up the time zones, happens all the time in these small clubs. I'd take that deal over another mystery candle any day.
