Audiobook vs physical copy, one changed how I catch details

I did a comparison with The Count of Monte Cristo, listened to the audiobook first then read the physical copy. The narrator's pacing made me miss some of the side plots, but reading let me flip back to the courtroom scene and catch the foreshadowing. Has anyone else noticed a big difference in comprehension between the two formats?

honestly i think audiobooks are better for catching details cause the narrator's tone gives you clues about what matters, like they emphasize stuff you'd skim right past on a page. plus when i read physical copies i get so caught up in my own pacing that i rush through the boring parts and miss the setup for the payoff later. flipped back to the courtroom scene is a you thing too, most folks just want the story to move and audio does that without all the page flipping.
