Tried Miller vs. Lincoln on a big tube sheet job last week

I had to lay out a 6-foot tube sheet with about 300 tube holes at the refinery here in Baton Rouge. Used my old Lincoln for the first 150 holes and switched to a borrowed Miller for the rest. The Miller made way cleaner starts and stops on the thin stainless tubing. Lincoln kept giving me arc wander no matter how I set the gas and amperage. Has anyone else noticed a big difference between the two on tube sheet work, or was I just having a bad day with my machine?

300 holes in a 6 foot sheet? Sounds like you earned yourself a beer either way.

Ha @verac40, I actually see it differently. 300 holes in a 6 foot sheet means you're probably rushing or the pattern is TOO tight for the material.
