TIL a 62 year old boilermaker at the Pineville shop was right about leaving the bottom row of tubes for after lunch
Back in February I was rolling tubes on a recovery boiler in Pineville and this old hand named Dewey kept telling me to save the bottom row for after break because the heat off the mud drum makes your gloves slick and you fight the roller. I blew him off and did it first thing at 6am, dropped a tube on my foot and had to get 9 stitches, and Dewey just nodded and handed me a soda. Do you all knock out the easy stuff first or save it for when your hands are warm?
