Just logged 500 hours on my new Miller welder and the difference is real

I hit that number yesterday and it finally clicked why my foreman in Toledo kept pushing practice. My beads are way cleaner and I'm burning through way less rod on simple joints. How many hours did it take you guys to feel a big jump in your welding speed?

Took me about 400 hours to really stop overthinking it.

That feeling when it all comes together is the best. Totally get what you mean about the cleaner beads, it's like your hands finally know what to do without you telling them. My speed picked up big time around the same point, maybe 450 hours in. Suddenly you're not fighting the puddle on every single inch.
