Just finished a 3-inch thick pressure vessel plate weld in one continuous run yesterday.
The heat input calculation said I'd need a break, but I managed it without a stop. Anyone ever push past what the book says you can do on a single pass?

It's like that with a lot of trades, the book says one thing but experience finds another way. You learn the real limits by testing them on the job sometimes. Good work pushing through that run.

Man that's rough. Glad you pushed through it though, sometimes the numbers just don't account for real world grit.
