Am I the only one who thinks 500 ASME code stamps should be a bigger deal than it is?
I was cleaning out the shop log last week and counted it up. Hit my 500th stamped joint on a tank job down in Corpus and all I got was a handshake from the QC guy. Feels like we make a huge fuss over guys running 3 years on the job but nobody says boo when a hand pushes 500 code stamps through inspection without a single reject. I just think the trade is sleeping on the guys who quietly stack up clean weld after clean weld. What's the number that actually gets a guy respect on your crew, certs or stamps or years?
