Warning: I played Terraforming Mars wrong for 15 games before someone at a Dallas meetup stopped me
I always thought the oxygen track triggered the game end when it maxed out, but a guy named Dave pointed out at a meetup in Dallas that it's the temperature at 8 degrees C, and I just sat there feeling dumb. Turns out I was skipping the whole last round of scoring every single time. Has anyone else had a rule they got wrong for way too long and only caught because a stranger corrected them?

Wow I used to think the exact same thing about the oxygen track ending the game. My group played that way for like a year and we always wondered why our scores felt so low compared to stuff we read online. Dave sounds like a hero because nobody wants to read that rulebook cover to cover. Still catches me off guard that the temp track is what really ends it.
