Vent: Got told my dice rolling was 'too aggressive' by a guy at Pax East

Last year at Pax East I was rolling for initiative in a D&D pickup game and this random guy leans over and says I'm 'slamming the dice too hard' and it 'dents the table.' I thought he was joking but he was dead serious. Well I changed my rolling style to a soft drop after that and now I roll like 10% more natural 1s so maybe he was onto something. Has anyone else gotten weird unsolicited feedback on their game habits?

I mean the soft drop thing actually sounds plausible because I had this dude at my local shop tell me I was shuffling too loud and now I do a quiet bridge shuffle and I swear I draw more lands than spells now. Maybe it's just me but I think there's some weird energy thing where changing your style messes with your luck or whatever. Honestly I'd take the aggressive dice roll back if it meant fewer 1s.

And it's like the same thing with phone charging honestly. I used to just plug my phone in however and it lasted fine, then someone told me I was "stressing the cable" and now I'm all gentle with it and my battery dies way faster. Makes you wonder if people just need to mind their own business or if we're all accidentally optimizing ourselves into worse luck.
