Unpopular opinion: Euro games are way overrated compared to thematic Ameritrash games

I finally got to play Terraforming Mars at a friend's place last weekend and I just don't get the hype. We spent like 3 hours moving cubes around and reading cards that barely changed the story. Meanwhile my group's been playing Arkham Horror 2nd edition every Friday for 6 months and every session feels like a movie. Euro games feel like doing taxes with friends. Anyone else feel like theme and luck make games more memorable?
