Took me 3 years to realize I was shuffling my deck wrong at game night

I always thought you just riffle shuffle everything together, but last week my buddy Tim pointed out my sleeves were getting bent and some cards were marked. Turns out I was putting too much pressure on the edges and basically crimping them every time. Has anyone else had that moment where someone watches you play and just goes 'uh, you know that's not how you do that right'?
