The $4 dice tray that changed my gaming setup completely

I've been using a felt-lined box lid for my game dice for five years. My buddy brought over a cheap foam dice tray from Board Game Bliss in Toronto and I rolled way better on it. Something about the soft landing spot makes my rolls feel more random. Has anyone else noticed a difference with a dedicated dice tray versus just rolling on the table top?

Wait, you seriously went five years using a box lid? That's wild. I've seen guys toss their dice on cardboard and it's a total mess, but a foam tray is a game changer for sure.

Man, that reminds me of my buddy Rick. He showed up to game night with a shoebox lid. Had it for like three years before I said something. Dice would fly everywhere. One time his d20 rolled off the table and under the couch. Took us ten minutes to find it. I bought him a cheap felt tray for his birthday. He still uses it. Said he never knew what he was missing.
