Shoutout to the guy at the game store who warned me about buying too many expansions at once

I walked into Dragon's Den Games last month ready to drop $120 on three expansions for a deck-building game I just got. The clerk, older fellow named Tom, told me to hold off and just play the base game for a few weeks first. I ignored him and bought them anyway. Now I've got two unopened boxes sitting on my shelf because the base game is still plenty deep. Has anyone else had a game store employee steer you right when you were about to overspend?

@nina_butler that really stings, I feel your pain. Tom absolutely saved my wallet too, I just wish I had listened the first time.

Tom was right, I burned $80 on expansions I still haven't touched.

Had a buddy who dropped almost a hundred on a game season pass and still hasn't booted it up once. Guess that's just how it goes sometimes, @nina_butler...
