My group's dice tower fell apart mid-campaign, duct tape saved the night

Last Friday our group hit session 5 of a new Gloomhaven run and the wooden dice tower I got at a garage sale finally split down the middle. It was holding up fine with some glue for a few weeks, but the base just gave out after a lucky crit that got everyone cheering. I grabbed a roll of duct tape from my trunk and wrapped it around the seam, plus wedged a coaster under it so it wouldn't wobble. It actually rolled great for the rest of the night, only one die bounced out on a really hard toss. My buddy joked we should just tape the whole table together next time. Has anyone else had a cheap tower or tray fail on them mid-game, and did you find a fix that lasted more than a couple sessions?

honestly the real fix is just grabbing one of those plastic organizer bins from the dollar store and cutting a slot in the lid, way more stable than any tower you can buy cheap and if it breaks you just get another one for a buck
