I finally sold my massive board game collection for 12 small games instead of one big one
I had 87 games on my shelf in Baltimore and half of them never hit the table more than once. Last month I traded 11 big box games for 12 small ones like Coup and The Crew, and honestly it changed my whole game night. People online keep saying you need heavy games like Gloomhaven for a real group, but that took us 4 hours of rules reading before we even played a card. Small games get played because setup is 3 minutes, not 30, and my group of 5 actually finishes a night with everyone laughing instead of one guy staring at a rulebook. Big games feel impressive on a shelf but collect dust. Who here has cut their collection way down and did it actually help your table time?
