Had a guy at a game store explain his 20 minute turn in Agricola like it was a TED talk

I was at this little board game cafe in Portland last month, the one with the mismatched chairs and cat that walks on the tables. I joined a random game of Agricola with some strangers, and this one dude spent a solid 20 minutes on his first move. He kept narrating every single card in his hand, like 'If I take the reed now, that sets up a family growth by round 5, but then I miss the clay for the pottery shed.' I just sat there holding my sheep card, nodding like I was in a business meeting. What really got me was when he finally placed his pawn, he looked up and said 'The wood was the correct play, trust the process.' Has anyone else sat through a game where someone turned worker placement into a philosophy lecture?

Man @brianm27 hit the nail on the head. Was watching a streamer last night spend a solid ten minutes debating which pixelated rock was gonna give him +1 luck in some ruined building. Like bro, it's a video game rock. It doesn't have feelings. You're not stocking a real bunker for the apocalypse. Just grab the nearest shiny thing and move on.
