Finally caved on a dice tower after 8 months of calling them pointless
I used to trash talk dice towers hard, thought they were just expensive junk for people who can't roll straight. Last month my buddy brought his cheap wooden one to game night and I rolled like 12 crits with it in one session of D&D. Now I get it, the controlled drop actually keeps stuff on the table and speeds up combat. Picked up a folding one for $25 off Amazon and it's already saved me from knocking over my drink twice. Anyone else have a board game accessory they swore off until they tried it once?

That "controlled drop actually keeps stuff on the table" part is the real seller for me. I used to think dice trays were enough until I had a player knock a full beer onto a character sheet mid-boss fight. Now I'm looking at those glass ones with the magnetic lids, feels like the next step up from the folding version I got.
