Dropped $120 on a board game that nobody will play with me
I bought this heavy euro game called something like "Bread and Salt" because the box looked cool and the reviews said it was amazing. Got it home, spent 3 hours reading the rulebook, and set it up on the kitchen table. Then I called my three board game buddies and asked if they wanted to come over and play. They all said it looked too complicated and they'd rather play Catan again. It's been sitting on my shelf for 6 months now, still unplayed. I even tried to bribe my girlfriend with pizza and wine to try it and she just laughed. Has anyone else bought a game that became a permanent decoration?

Honestly, "permanent decoration" is way too generous for my copy of "Terraforming Mars." That thing is a $70 dust collector with a rulebook that might as well be written in Martian. I tried to bribe my buddy with a full rack of ribs and a case of beer, and he still said he'd rather play Uno. At least you can use the box as a coaster, which is more than I can say for my unplayed copy of "Gloomhaven" that's starting to get a patina of pizza grease.
