Thought hand-filing was too slow until a coworker showed me his rhythm.
Watching him work made me realize speed comes from practice, not just better tools.

Seeing someone good at their craft REALLY drives home the importance of muscle memory. My uncle used to whittle wood, and his hands just knew what to do without thinking. It's all about that ingrained rhythm from doing it over and over.

Yeah but sometimes that muscle memory locks you into bad habits too. Seen it with guitar players who practice mistakes until they're stuck.
