Warning: watching the original British version of The Office first made the US one feel like a chore

I knocked out all 14 episodes of the UK run in two evenings, then got 4 episodes into the US series and quit, because the UK version never wasted a single scene. Did anyone else watch them in that order and feel the same, or did I spoil it for myself?
